Whether you want to remove the clutter or simply reorganise it, here are some handy hints to get you on the road to a more organised space.
Occupy the wall
Are your kitchen cupboards set to burst? Bring everything out into the open and place your extra cups, bowls and glasses on wall shelves. You can even get creative with it and use funky labels to keep everything in its place, to help your guests know where to put things!
Segment your drawers
Don’t you hate rummaging through drawers for ages trying to find that one USB stick? A cluttered drawer can become such a pain that we end up placing items on top of it, but that isn’t very functional. Try adding compartments to your drawers, so you can allocate a specific space for your things, without them getting all mixed and tangled. You can also use the top of your dresser or drawers to house something more appealing, like a vase of flowers!
Have a good place to store out-the-door essentials
All of our shoes, umbrellas, keys and hats seem to congregate in the same place when we dump them upon our arrival home. A great way to stop the pile is to make a place by the door for all of those items that you commonly take with you and put down a basket specific to these items. Pop a basket on the floor for shoes and install a few hooks to hang your coats and hats! Now, that ugly pile is a manageable collection by the doorway.
Make your study mobile
Get rid of those pesky papers flying all over the place and organise a mobile workspace. A rolling office will help keep all of your stationery and supplies in check, so you don’t have to cover the whole dining room table with your project all the time. These rolling offices are also great for smaller homes that don’t grant you the luxury of your own office space or study.
