Choosing the right bedroom design for your child’s ever-growing interests can be a real challenge. First they’re obsessed with space exploration and want The Milky Way plastered across the walls, then before you know it, that idea’s been tossed aside and they now want to be a pirate! To make your decision a bit easier, we’ve picked some of the most important aspects to take into account when deciding how to decorate your child’s bedroom. From choosing a versatile bed to utilising space and storage, follow these 5 simple ideas in order to outperform even your child’s imagination!

Adaptable bed

Choosing the right bed is often one of the hardest decisions to make. Not only do you want your child to love their room, but you also want it to be practical and adaptable. Loft beds are a great way to maximise the space in the room, as well as keep it fun and unique.

Super storage

Although your child may be small, this certainly doesn’t represent how much stuff they can accumulate. Making sure your kid’s bedroom is fully equipped with enough storage for all of their bits and pieces is imperative! From tailor-made built-in wardrobes, to under-bed storage and wooden trunks, there are so many ways to ensure your rascals toys and clothes stay in the drawers and not on the floor!

Jazz up the walls

Although plain walls may be the safest option, it’s by far the least creative! We suggest jazzing up your child’s bedroom walls with something they love, whether that be their favourite colour, wall stencils or even a lick of whiteboard/chalk paint!

Work space

It’s important that your child has a dedicated space where they can complete their homework. A great way to do this is by creating a small area within their room that is dedicated to work. This can include a free-standing desk—or if you decide to opt for a loft bed—you could choose to convert the under space into their very own study!

Chill out zone

Making your child’s bedroom as enjoyable and relaxing as possible should be at the top of your list. To achieve this, make sure you add some comfy furniture to the room; this could include a mini sofa, beanbags, bookshelves, toy space—and if they’re lucky (and well behaved), a TV and gaming station!
